i was thinking this may be a cheaper way to get a top spec'd tele, but the more i go through the figures i think i would have been better with a AVRI 50s tele :lol: :lol:

still i can get everything exactly how i want it.

Nice. I was torn between a '52 style tele and a tele custom and ended up building something like your other Squier project (colour-wise), still in progress. Look forward to seeing this one as well. Lucky bastard for the neck and that. I have an AV Strat with a soft V.

I would go for a cream just to change it up a bit, like the look of the squier classic vibe for example. But butterscotch always works.

Seems to me like you're building a Baja Telecaster?

It has the exact same neck as you're going for and the same aesthetic, pulling the volume knob and switch selector seems like the easiest and cheapest route to a high quality result. It has custom shop pickups.

You are going the long expensive way round.

Stacey's just informed me my $20 Eden neck has arrived. She say it's not awful. Comparison with $200 Allparts neck coming later this evening...

I understand the fun factor but you'll have to explain to me how a slightly modified Baja Telecaster wouldn't exactly fit your specs.

didn't like the pups and you are limited to certain colours and hardware choices. i can get exactly what i want and put it together how i like at my own pace. always nicer to make something yourself.

Mike, what is the bridge pickup in the baja Tele? Is there a special name forit, or is it stock MIM pup? I need something not too expensive and medium/low output for my Eden esquire thingy.

Nope, they're both Custom Shop Pickups.

Bridge = Broadcaster
Neck = Twisted Tele

edit - didn't see Zaphod's post.

yeah the bridge didn't have the grunt of a classic tele and i found the neck a little plain.
