Help with working out what year my 50's Strat is...

I have this Mexican 50's re-issue strat. By the serial number it was made in like 98-99

im not sure what actual years model it is a re-issue of..

did Fender just bring out a general 50's re-issue guitar???

The Mexican Classic 50s replaced the Japanese '57 and they're built to the same spec, so you could consider it a '57 re-issue if you like. Strats changed very little until '59 though, save for string tree/knob/trem cover/logo subtleties.
