Broken amp

LOL, take it easy, it's just an amp! I saw some pictures of thurston moore playing one at some noise concert he in ranaldo did for fender, weird. I used to love the amp like many here, it was my first big amp, and i could hear myself when playing with a drummer....

I'm probably just going to store it in the garage or give it to some friend of mine who wants to try and make it work

Thurston uses a Bandit for a lot of his solo stuff as well - they all make noise about the same

I have a broken 80´s peavey bandit 112 (80/100watts), it distorts my sound even at reallly low volumes in the clean channel, and sometimes the volume just goes away, i have to put it in the max, strum hard and it wil come back on (never happens if i plug the guitar in the effects loop).

Does anyone have any idea what's the problem?

Definately sounds like an input jack or input stage problem Maybe running a patch cable through the effects loop would help? I had a Bandit 112 years ago and had my share of problems with it (All kinds of noise and volume dropping in and out).

That solved the volume drop problem!!! maybe I'll keep the mp after all, for the distortion problem i can just lower the lows and mids
