SGUAR MOD #200009: IMPROV JACK CUP

Post by theshadowofseattle »

The wood around the jack on my SGuar collapsed, so I used a wide-ass washer on the inside of the cavity and the gigantic cup thing from a Dunlop straplock to cover up the hole. It looks pretty awesome.

btw, if you ever want to make a humbucker guitar sound like a Jazzmaster, buy a DiMarzio Bluesbucker and put a series-parallel switch on it. I GOT INDIE MOPE ROCK TONES FOR DAYS.

That looks industrial quality. SGuar is so underrated because it's an SG, I reckon it's cool though.

PS did you get round to sending Shadstang in the end? I got a customs note yesterday saying I had to go pay some money on something to collect it, got all excited and it turned out to be the opticians sending me an appointment card with no stamp on. BS.

I had to gather up all the odds and ends (original pickups and parts that I replaced over time) from all over the fucking apartment, garage, and storage so that I could include them. I have the day off today, so I'll get the box that my Daisy Rock bass came in and pack it up to ship tomorrow. Do you want the neck bolted on or not? It'll be in the hardcase.

I'll be happy with bolted on, presuming it's padded and whatnot. Maybe that's a crazy idea, I dunno, but I reckon it'll be safe enough in a hardcase with cardboard and packing and everything.

Appreciate the effort dude, can't wait to get it. Big gig is two weeks on Friday, so fingers crossed it gets here in time.

that new jack looks ace. i hope my melody maker never gets cracked at the jack, but i suppose its bound to happen. :(

its funny how the rockinest guitars (sg's, but of course thats opinion) are also the most fragile (also debatable i suppose.)

Sweet! Good tip!!!
