i did this as a test to make sure i could get it to work, and walla, it did, the first time i have been successful with a computer since i joined the shortscale.
im in the proccess of actually doing a quick chaining vid.
I'd never really thought about the Bassman as a guitar amp that I'd want, despite SRV being one of my favourite guitarists and having one of my favourite tones.
Does this mean we can lok forward to guitar build vids?
possibly, i gotta figure out to get images off of the camera, i spose its about time i did a video how to demo or something.
it would be cool if i could do the blind fret ends thing as a video demo but speed it up really fast.
thats kinda what i was thinking, maybe slow it down for some words, and explanation, and then speed up the work 10X faster than normal, hell i wish i could do that anyway.
after watching the video i noticed the camera was rocking back and forth, upon closer examination i realized that my amp has so much rawk and mojo(mainly just volume)
that it was vibrating the camera and moving it around.
I don't know how it works with the AB165 but I found out a few things about the AA864 you might be interested in.
- Inputs '1' and '2' are the same on both channels.
- The initial parts of both channels are very similar. The only difference is in a couple of capacitor values (and maybe one or two other bits) that alter the tone stacks.
- The bass side has an extra gain stage.
thats probly accurate, i tried plugging into all of them and testing them all out, and they are all pretty similier with mine, the bass side has more.. bass, and less highs, the mids seems to be turned down as well.
it would be cool to a/b an aa165 circut to see what it sounds like.
like i said, before, fender made guitars for thier amps.
the low output pup with high output bassman is perfect.
its nice and clean until about 5-6, and then at 8 its a perfectly overdriven gritty bassman sound.
and it is literally that way with just that pickup in that guitar.
im really wanting to show off my ampeg amp now. but later, i need to get some work done first.
