Would you say it was worth upgrading to the sansamp classic from the GT2 ?

To me, the GT2 and Original SansAmp are completely different beasts. I've used the Original (the "Classic" models I believe are identical to the original, but when they expanded the product line they added "Classic" to the name for clarity) for direct recording many times and it sounds great. The GT2 seems to function well only as a stompbox used with an amp, and the range of sounds is not as great as the Original/Classic. I bought the GT2 second-hand about five years ago for $60 (couldn't pass that up) hoping it would be a decent backup for the Original, and it does the super-distorto-rocking tones well but not the barely-breaking-up Fender tones I use the Original for.

In short, if you use the GT2 for the over-the-top Mesa/Marshall sounds you probably won't see much difference with a Classic. They're now discontinued and fetching high prices, but I saw that Tech 21 is doing a limited run of a Classic pedal that looks like it's been relic'd (no joke), but I don't know the price.

i've really gone off using pedals recently. the only one i keep on at all times is this.
i've not had much time recently to play/be online.

woudl you reccommend them then?

i'm not sure what modulation i would really use because i've not really used any before and that pedal seems like a good place to get started.

i quite like the bluesbreaker. it's basically a marshall plexi in a box, plus it has a clean boost section as well.

i'm just running this and the strat, nice warm thick drive that cleans up really nice and a smatter of reverb from the amp.

you can pick them up well cheap, got mine for Â£30 new i think.

Bottom Row is the EHX Deluxe Memory Man, 6100 Footswitch and Korg DT-10 Tuner.

The Klon is built and just needs to be taken apart and finished Gold with decals. Possibly including crude photoshop of my face onto the Centaur Horseyman from the original Klon:

Is the SaltBreaker a clone of the first Marshall BB? Mmmmmmm.

You should just use the exact same Klon logo, with your MADE BY MIKE face over the head, that'd be righteous.

Yeah, I figured I'm going to use the 6100 mostly, and the only "problem" I ever had with it was that I love the Crunch Channel for fullblooded Crunch, so I don't have a breakup/light gain sound from it, so that's what I'm going for in a pedal. I've been messing around with a few (Dano Drive - sounds best as a Crunch source, not low gain, Dano TranOverDrive - not really my thing, Modded SuperOverdrive - pretty close, but I like building...), and I remembered how much I loved the BB-2 when I demoed it. I had a look at them on ebay and they cost Â£30. For a little more I can build my own version of the original circuit into a small box so that's what I'm doing. They're a very cool sounding pedal. Will be sure to demo all this stuff and take pictures as I go (you know me!).

The Klon logo thing, that's exactly what I'm after. I may have to bump my photoshoppers thread and ask for more help.

Although I've not tried the two in an A/B situation, the original is far nicer sounding in my opinny- less gain, but less of a Tubescreamer "honky mids, no low end" vibe- I used it all over my last EP. If you're able to hotrod the original circuit, I may well be interested down the line.

is there away to mod a BB-2 to original specs? i'm quite curious as to it's sound.

at the moment, the only pedal i've been using is the BB-2. though i've been hankering after something new, dirt wise.

you could of had mine for Â£25 mike lol

I like building to be honest. I don't know what the circuit differences are off hand, but I can look into it.
