Just noticed Grant Nicholas from Feeder playing this Jazzmaster / Firebird hybrid:

fuck i hate feeder.

i remember being interested by his guitar a while back, firebird with a fender 'stock. i wouldn't own it but i would admire it from afar.

as long as it wasn't being used to play feeder that is.

I've always sort of liked Firebirds, but with the block inlays rather than trapezoidal and a normal-looking headstock it looks even better. That must have been pretty challenging, as I thought Firebirds were neck-through.

Who leaves their guitar teetering at the edge of the stage like that though? Seems like kind of a dick move.

Haha you're right - it is quite precariously balanced.

I quite like the guitar; wonder why he chose to go with the JM trem though? It's not like he ever uses the whammy or plays behind the bridge..

quinten a friend of mine i sometimes jam with has a firebird, it's red, i think the orig headstock works for the guitar. i always wanted a firebird bass but think the model looks lame upside down.

Also I saw them once and he did the same thing with his Tele, balancing it on the edge of the stage like that... God knows why.

I like it. Never heard the band though. Reminds me of a John Entwistle "fenderbird" with a thunderbird body and a p bass neck (so says wikipedia).

I very much like that guitar. I would like it even better with dots instead of blocks and no binding and no matching headstock. I have no idea who Feeder is but anybody who balances his guitar on the side of a stage like that needs to be kicked in the head.

it's pretty much fact that feeder are gash and always have been, the same as it's pretty much fact that AIDS is bad for you...

in my opinion.
