I guess since it fired up and worked, you may be alright. We use a variac to supply voltage slowly to old receivers etc...

I actually had a dream last week that a Tiny Terror arrived in the post for me. When I opened it I realised that you had made it, and that I had bought it off you. It was a slightly different shape, with an angled front, and was coloured entirely the same colour of orange as Mike used on my saltbooster. It was also covered in wee patches of masking tape "for shielding."
