Tremolo recommendations,
After my recent failure to find a cheap short scale guitar I’ve decided the only way to cheer myself up is to buy a new stomp box. I fancy getting a tremolo, and doing some Johnny Marr impersonations. I was thinking Danelectro cool cat or Boss Tr-2. What would you recommend?

A friend of mine has this:

He likes it tons, they seem to be out of production so you might be able to find them fairly cheap these days.

Mikes is very good, I think I've got the only one he made so far ? it's the trem/vibrato 2 in 1 prototype but I think he can do separates. It's on youtube.BacchusPaul wrote:Mike's one looked really good. I recon if i ever need a tremolo that's what I'll opt for.
I think the Dano is also meant to be alright too.

New Dano is meant to be cool, but until I hear with my own ears that it's better than the Dano Tuna Melt, I'll keep recommending the Tuna Melt.
So, Danelectro Tuna Melt.
Even after buying Mickie's Chopper (my dream trem pedal) I couldn't part with mine until I bought a Vibro Champ. And even then I laboured over the decision. It really is that good. The Boss, however, is pony.

The Dano Cool Cat has everything - square and triangle, great speed range, gets as deep as you would ever need, true bypass, blue LED bass boost.
It's based on the Demeter Tremulator (allegedly), which is based on the EHX Pulsar (allegedly) - though it doesn't do ring mod speed (a good thing in my mind).
Plus you can get it for $37 with free shipping on eBay. There should be no debate on this matter.

a tremolo/vibrato that tremmed in sync at different adjustable subdivisions with the vibe would be really cool.
I have a dunlop stereo tremolo and i dont like it at all.
the earthquaker devices trem, and the catalin semaphore both look nice. i dont think either pans tho, if you need that. and you can do better for the cost.
doesnt dano make a tiny plastic one that is decent and cheap?

Can your guide dog not smell the Dano posts above?william wrote: doesnt dano make a tiny plastic one that is decent and cheap?
I had an Earthquaker trem (the Hummingbird - Vox Repeat Percussion clone) and I liked it a lot, but wouldn't want it as my only trem. Go Dano, and buy yourself the fuzz or the vibrato to go with it.
(Then send the Vibe to me).
i've had a dano tuna melt, a digitech xp200 that has trem and a behringer ultra trem... the behringer is my fav but that's a personal preference.
the tuna melt can sound more retro/mellow like a subtle shimmering tremolo and can do the hard stutter trem. behringer UT is a bit less subtle but it can sound tighter than the dano tunamelt, if you need it to sound really tight . xp200 is a beast on your board but can do lots more than just trem of course, but the trem on it is just 'ok' nothing really typical about it.
