Anybody have/use them? I'm going to refit my Gretsch Pro Jet with them, but I'm not sure which model to get. I'm playing mostly rock with it. The current p/u's are really flabby in the low end, especially on palm mutes, and the attack is kinda marginal overall. I want something with some crisp attack, but not so high output that the high notes don't stand out.
They have demos on their website(http://www.tvjones.com/pickups/pickups.htm. They're done with a lot less overdrive than I'm using though. That's my biggest question: How do they sound with a decent amount of drive?
So far, I think the TV Classic Plus in the bridge and the TV Classic in the neck sounds the best. I don't care for the PowerTron. The SuperTron sounds a bit flat to my ears. The MagnaTron sounds OK.

Yeah, they're "TV Jones Designed" pickups. He said on one Gretsch forum that all he designed was the casing and I think he made a suggestion on the guts.superfuzz wrote:probably gretsch fake'trons.
II'd just read the descriptions and find reviews of what you want. I think my brian setzer gretsch has fake hi-lo trons, and I like them. Its quiet though.
