i love matte black. i love them epiphone goth guitars even if they're the polar opposite of what i look for in guitars.BacchusPaul wrote:I like odd things. I love the Jag-stang's shape, for instance.
As for stripes, I've always wanted a glossy black body, with matte black stripes. Dunno how doable it'd be, but I reckon it'd look awesome.
i'd love a matte black LP juinor/melody maker or similar.

No offense, but you guys do not know much about colour theory, do you? 99% of the time, do not mix green and black -- especially that type of green. It just screams "extreme soda/pro wrestling ad from the 90s".
And any sort of faux-mother of pearl pickguard material in anything other than white or off-white just cheapens whatever it is on. With white, it at least looks like it is trying to imitate the real thing where as that sort of green, blue, red, etc just looks so incredibly fake and tacky. A good rule of thumb is to avoid any pickguard that looks like it might have come from WD Pickguards as they make a ton of atrocious shit that should not exist.

since when does colour theory apply to someone's fucking guitar?
he's not designing a website for a company, he's screwing a bit of plastic to a guitar.
offense definately taken, sorry our eyes aren't as educated as yours. i do know about colour theory, but i also know that adhereing to theories doesn't make for interesting design.

stuff about mixing colours and combinations of colours that complement each other and such. usually opposites.BacchusPaul wrote:What the hell is colour theory? It looks the part, I'd say it'll do what it's supposed to fairly well.
blue/orange
red/green
etc etc
also stuff about what colours symbolise, red could be anger or passion whereas blue could be calming and serene and so on.
it's a deep deep subject, i had to do a sketchbook on it at college for graphics.
