got to play with some cool stuff yesterday

Post by stewart »

i was at my friend's house yesterday, the first time i've been in his flat, and had a go on some of his gear.

he's got a modded TR606 drum machine (it can do really glitchy stuff) and we put it through a filter bank, then into an RE-201 space echo and RE-501 chorus echo. sounded amazing. i almost had to run home to grab an adidas track suit and a pair of shell toes! you can see the 606 at the back under the space echo.

the good news is he's now playing bass in my band, which means for recording etc we'll have access to all his kit. oh yes!

i know, he's a complete bastard. he had 2 or 3 other tape echo units just 'lying about'.

there's also an ARP odyssey sitting on a shelf above the space echo, and an old miniKorg 700 on the other side.

*fuuuuuuu* i want them.

i see.

can i get frantone "the sweet"s instead? i find their frequency response to be a bit fuller, and the attack a bit more defined.
