I had a Mustang '69 RI Sonic Blue imported from Japan, that was my first shortscale and I joined this forum a little while after getting it because it made a huge hum. I couldn't really play guitar that well back in those days and I eventually sold it...I don't really regret it, I'm on the lookout for another decent Mustang now though :)

To start off I bought mine at a little store in pike place market called Emerald City Guitars., the date was or I believe to be December 26 2007.
Woah people actually buy things from that store? I usually just go there to oogle and drool for a while. I almost bought an old mustang there but instead opted to troll craigslist for whatever came up. I ended getting a CIJ 69RI 'stang, which I am quite happy with.

i bought mine here : www.leftyguitars.be

just emailed paul the owner asking if he could get hold of a lefty mustang and the only option at that time being a 69RI CIJ mustang , i wanted a mustang ! ..well actually i did know the only lefty mustangs i would find would be a japanese made one.

he ordered it for me had it come over from japan, called me as soon as it got there but that day he had to go to this fender dealer thing in germany so the shop was closed..he called me anyway to say it arrived and that his brother would open the shop if i wanted it straightaway so i said 'yeeees' and picked it up that day.

When I went to order my Mustang at the local guitar shop they actually tried to talk me out of it for a second. When calling to inform about when it would be arriving they asked 'What guitar did you say this was about?' 'Mustang.' '(very deep sigh) Mustang..'

Very glad I went through with it though.

Is it wrong to feel really fucking stupid because I'd bought my first shortscale at Guitar Center?
