As seen by above, altoids cases can be used for many weird things like ipod case, mouse, and even mini-amp i guess. So out of curiosity, have any of yall used them as enclosures for pedals? Its something thats crossed my mind lately and really made want to make one. Or in general, have any of you made pedals out of unconventional enclosures?

I doubt it's deep enough to accept a footswitch too, but even if you could mount it, the area around it will be pretty indented after a few clicks.
I always suspected the same would be true of Yun's coffee can fuzz (I hope that was him and not one of youse guys, faux pas ahoy).

I'm about to transfer my lil' smokey amp from the cigarette pack it's in now to an altoids tin, since the cigarette pack is getting a little torn and ratty at this point.
I was thinking I may try and mod a gain control, too tone down it's mammoth gain, and a headphone jack onto it in the process... but I don't know dick about electronics.

It's pretty easy to do, but it might be easier to rebuild the whole circuit. As I recall from when I moved mine to a new Lucky Strikes pack the smokey amp's circuit was encased in hot glue. But that could have just been the one I had. They are way simple to build, check the schematics out Here.

Mines encased in hot glue as well. I think it's more to do with absorbing rattling than it is to do with holding it together. I'll check out the schematics. Thanks.eljeffe wrote:It's pretty easy to do, but it might be easier to rebuild the whole circuit. So it looks like what I want to do it this...
I have no idea what any of that junk means lol. Looks like it'll survive without a gain control.
