I remember reading an article with/about John 5, round the time he released his custom tele. It was in a guitar magazine and it showed you how to play some of his solo stuff. He is an amazing guitarist, but just not my style.

I knew nothing about John 5 (other than the he played with Manson) until I saw this video.

Love him or hate him, the dude has a great collection that he actually seems to know quite a bit about -- but he does get the year wrong on the Thinline at around 3:31.

Awesome video. How can anyone not like the guy. I liked it how he lovingly re-adjusted the strap because it was lay under the body when he put the last Tele in its case.

I was going to mention John 5.

Rory Gallagher too, although he wasn't usually seen with a tele, he did play one.

There's one on the front cover of one of his albums, Against the Grain, I think.

There's an old blues guy plays in Derry who is honestly one of my favourite guitarists. He plays a tele, but it's unlikely any of you know him.

I love John 5. Don't like any of the music he plays but he is a HELL of a guitar player and you can tell he loves it. He lives, breathes, and sleeps Fender & Marshall.

I would buy him a pint any day. He has great taste in vintage Telecasters. He also comes across as a really nice chap to me, never lost his childlike enthusiasm for the 6 string.

If I'm not mistaken I think Hendrix recorded Purple Haze and Hey Joe on a Telecaster.
Also John 5's tele collection is amazing.
