Favorite overdrive pedal
What is everyone's favorite overdrive pedal? Not fuzz, not distortion, just plain old drive.
Mine would as of right now anyway is the LovePedal purple plexi 800.
what is yours?

I go between the TS7 (2 modes TS9 & Hot.*) and the SD-1 depending on if I want the mid-hump or not. The "drive" really does sound a lot better on the SD-1 but the TS7 cleans up better.
* not that I ever use the hot mode. I generally just sit it on TS9 and turn the drive all the way down. The Hot is good to use with fuzz pedals for crazy noise stuff though.

mine used to be the BD-2. i used it for everything, never took it off my board. in recent times, i've gotten sick of that and pedals in general. i keep looking for something new to inject into my sounds. currently I'm using an SD-1, which like Stewart's soundtank, always comes though.
I'm on the fence with tubescreamers, mainly as i've never played anything like a TS-9 or 808. I have a timmy clone which is based on a tubescreamer and i tried Fran's TS-7, which i was pretty impressed with.

heh yea, I think the TS7 uses the same switch. mine was broken forever. I finally replaced it and now I love this pedal hahastewart wrote:i've tried and tried and i just cannot get away from this pedal. i buy something new and kick it off my board but it follows me around, whimpering at my heels til i give in.
i'm going to rehouse it though, the switch is pretty crappy. i'm on my second one, i wrecked the first one i had.
they have the switches at small bear http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=35
