Fender branded speakers

Post by laterallateral »

So I'm thinking of buying this 2x12 Sunn Cab equiped with Fender branded speakers.
label reads "specially designed for" and "made by eminence" but I haven't had any luck digging up anything about these. Anybody have any info or opinions on these?

They're probably just late model fender gold lables, but they could be the same speakers that came in twins for years.

Thanks for the info.
That gives me a little lead to follow.

Do you have an opinion on either Gold Labels or stock Twin Reverb speakers?

I guess what I really want to know is should I buy that cab?

They're okay speakers, they get swapped out for Vintage 30's in the fender hotrod series amps. I think they come/came in twins, I could be wrong.

If you want a "vintage" looking cab that may be a route to go, but people on here have had good experience with Avatar cabs, and I look forward to buying one eventually. They're fair price, and the quality is pretty good from my understanding.

Avatar Cabs

This being said, I've never used an avatar cab, and like how my Hotrod deville sounds (those speakers).

I hope this helped a little bit, and I hope someone with a lot more info chimes in.

I got my Sunn 2x12 with original speakers from a store for $150 (190 in Canadian dollars).

I don't really know how that might help make your mind, but I guess it's another data point.

eminence used to only make OEM speakers to specification for other companies. get some Jensen NEO speakers, they sound good and are ligthweight.
