i thought i'd struggle with the scale, but it's well speedy. the sound is quite bassy, which is nice. got a good deal on it too. or to be fair the best deal in the local area.

I had to sell it to fund the Jaguar, and the Duo-Sonic II is too similar, I'm elated to be getting it back in action with the 65 neck.

That guitar looks like the identical twin of my '65 reissue.
What's the quality of the fretboard like? Mine is quite porous, which seems to be a common issue with Japanese Fenders, although it doesn't affect the playability. Plays well, but looks kind of nasty. I think it's because they've cut across the grain.
Also, the pickup selector switches on mine were made of fail. I swapped them out for Switchcrafts.

Weird. The switches on mine were switchcraft. They were really high quality - everything on the guitar was.

the fretboard is pretty nice, it feels very smooth. perhaps a little smoother than the strat. i tend to use lemon oil on my necks, so hopefully that will take care of nastiness along the way. at the moment, the switches are working well. just getting used to not having a 5 or 3 way toggle.
