L-R: '08 MIM Standard Tele, '03 MIM Tele Deluxe Reissue, '99 American Deluxe Strat

The Standard Tele has Lace Tele pickups (hot bridge), Schaller straplocks and locking tuners, and GraphTech saddles. I bought it to replace a stolen Squier Standard 20th Anniversary Tele that had a tits black sparkle finish. Sunburst is boring, but it's a classic look that I've always loved. It was either this or the Classic Player Jazzy, and I missed the old Tele. I think a black guard would look better, but I've not yet bought one.

The Tele Deluxe is stock except for 500k pots to brighten the pickups a little. I had considered replacing the pickups entirely until I tried both 1M and 500k ohm pots rather than the retarded 250k stock assholes. The 1M were too bright, and the 500k were perfect; it was as if I had removed a piece of cardboard from between the pole pieces and strings. I've not heard the original CuNtFaCe pickups, but they may as well be made of diamond for the price they fetch now. This neck is among the fattest I've ever played and I absolutely love it.

The Strat is completely stock -- Teal Green Transparent with a mint guard. It was a steal for $650 because positions 2, 3, and 4 didn't work thanks to a short in the middle pickup's wiring. I would have felt bad, but it was Guitar Center. It sits in a closet now because I've grown to hate the pickups and don't much feel like replacing them. Every so often I consider selling or trading it, but for now I've decided I'll keep it and give it to my unborn kid some day.

[I originally had this in the "pictures of your gear here" thread in the effects forum but wanted to move it to the correct spot. Sorry for the repeat of boring shit for those that have seen this already.]

It's called Teal Green Transparent, and I've only ever seen it on the early American Deluxe guitars and basses. That photo somehow makes it look a lot more pronounced than it really is. I've tried so many times to take a photograph that accurately represents the color, but I think a video is the only thing that can do it justice.

It's the only guitar that I've ever owned that has made me feel both great love and deep hate at different times. I do like the look, but the pickups -- which I realize is a quick fix -- just make me want to kill myself. Once I have some extra scratch, I'd like to put a new mint guard on with some pickups not normally seen on a Strat -- something like a pair of Jazzmaster or Jag pickups. I am not a huge fan of the out-of-phase traditional Strat quacky sound, and I think just having two pickups with a three-position switch that gave me neck/both in series (for super hot tonez)/bridge would be much better.

Great guitars once you up the pot value. I miss that neck, it was my favourite on any guitar ever. I would put it on everything I have but for the fact it's 3 bolt.

If I ever found one on ebay I would definitely consider 4 bolting it and whacking on my Baja Telecaster.

I had a strat once that was a stock 3-bolt but upon removing it saw that it was 4-bolt ready.

There is a place on ebay that sells Fender necks by the boat load. But they're prices are fucking HIGH.

It's shame, they have Tons of Mustang and Jaguar and Telecaster Necks:

£250 for a neck?!?

The Guitar only costs twice that.

I think that must be the same seller as this guy here:

http://stores.ebay.com/The-STRATosphere

he must have a different store set up for UK eBay. But yea, his prices are way high. sometimes he auctions stuff though and you can get more fair prices. it looks like he buys brand new guitars and parts them out.

Nah that store I posted is a US store too. I may have to just wait and bid on a few of the auctions. I hate him though. HATE

I've bought from that guy. You really do have to sit and wait for him to bid that shit out, the parts are ridiculously overpriced whenever it's "buy it now".

Just got the Valve Junior Stack today as the second addition to my family of gear that isn't total shit, first addition being the CP Jag.

Image

Also seen is a terrible Fender Stratacoustic, a Schecter C-1+, a Squier "Black and Chrome Special Edition" Strat, an Ibanez Soundblaster Bass Amp I've been using for a while and a Cry Baby.

Very nice. I actually kind of dig the Valve Junior; I used one a fair bit for recording. It had a nice sort of grunt to it when opened up and used with my Tele Deluxe.

Aye, it's pretty surprising the kind of tone I can get out of such an amp.

And, of course, it's a huge upgrade from the SS and borrowed bass amps I've grown accustomed to using.
