new really short scale

Post by Aeon »

Got this as a gift for my girlfriend. She plays cello and wanted to take up a new instrument, and had an interest in mandolin.

It plays pretty well, the only thing that I will change is the nut. It stays in tune relatively well thanks to Grover tuners, but I think it will do so even better with a well-cut graphite or bone nut. Despite being only 4 strings, it sounds a hell of a lot like a normal mandolin. Sounds great through my Twin Reverb too.

What a trip!! A Firebird electric mandolin. BTW, Fender, Rickenbacker, and a few others make electric mandolins too.
