Yeah I know. In recent times he's been playing the Jazzmaster again. But according to a shortie Guitar World interview I read in the 90s (complete with a photo of him slinging a Jaguar), it was a Jaguar (with Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders in it) that he used for the first two albums. Grrr! I can't find any info online supporting this. Maybe I'm wrong. If so, sorry about that.

Thanks. I STILL think Jags are cool. AND, from what I read today before I left for work, it sounds like some of the problems I had with the 1989 or 90 MIJ Jag I owned back in 1990, may have been setup related. I used roundwound 9s or 10s for strings. Jags really play better with 11s or better yet 12s. Also, the bridge on the Jag was designed for flatwound strings - not roundwounds. I'll have to wait and see if the Jag I mentioned in my "Need Some Advice on Shortscale Guitars" thread pans out. It would give me resolution of my refund hassle, and score me a cool guitar to boot.
