the GFS 60's non-staggers are not exactly mustang pickups but their pretty freakin close. I think mustang pickups are 6.3k; the GFS set is a 5.8, a 6.3 and a 6.8. so you can choose how you like it. I have the stagger version and they're excellent.
cogito ergo sum...thing or other...
I have the 69 RI stock pickups still in my mustang. I like them.
They're very low output which is a bit annoying - I'm using a booster pedal which helps get round that problem. Also the output of the bridge and neck pickups is not balanced, the neck is a lot louder. This is also annoying.. I have tried lowering it and making the bridge pickup higher but it hasn't really helped. However, even though there are these issues, I love the sound of them! Both pickups together sounds great (even though the neck pickup is slightly louder).

i have the stock 65 pickups in my CIJ mustang. there pretty good, well balanced between the neck and bridge pickups. i've only really noticed the lower output when i've been playing around with fuzz/od pedals. i have to use a little more gain than my strat, but it's not too bad. both pickups on is pretty powerful, i use that quite a bit for rhythm sounds, switching to neck for lead. i like the just the neck on clean with my univibe, perfect gilmour sounds.

CIJ pickups are teh sux0r, and anyone who tells you different needs their ears syringing.
(This is not a dig against CIJ guitars, they just require a little work to bring them up-to-spec.)
I've never had cause for complaint with Seymour Duncan pickups, so they're my recommendation based on personal experience.
People tell me that Curtis Novak wins over Lindy Fralin. Curtis doesn't list Mustang replacements, but I'd be surprised if he couldn't accommodate you.
