So I contacted pickguardian about making me a pickguard...

Painting? Routing? Set-up tips? Or just straight-up making a guitar from scratch? Post here, and post pics!

And they told me that a Jaguar's bridge is in the same place as on a Jazzmaster. Fucking fail. Jeannie pickguards are also out of the question since they also don't know what they're talking about.

Does anyone know of any other pickguard makers?

I can't honestly recommend Jeannie pickguards either - the email exchanges I had with the dood behind it was fucking painful and like extracting teeth every step. Seriously there is something to be said for sales training sometimes. When people people are trying to throw stupid money at you for cut plastic I'd at least try to be interested.

The Guard I got was nicely made and to my specs but the tort was pretty much fail. I'd said i didn't want anything that looked printed, he said he had some nitro tort but the faux stuff was better. I went with his opinion and there is was in the daylight: lots of fucking dots and a fairly uniform and unexciting redness. Business going firmly elsewhere from me in the future.

Use these people:

I've got a few PGs from them and they're of the highest standard. Don't go to Orpington though, it's a shithole.

these guys made my tort bronco pickguard for me. it actually fit better than the stock (30 years old) fender guard that was on it to begin with.

you gotta pay a good penny though its quality work.

BTW just because I'm still annoyed about it, here's the response from Pickguardian:
Steve:

The good news is the bridge position is the same on Jaguars and Jazzmasters. Jaguars just had a few extra frets because of their shorter scale length. The bad news is Jazzmaster guards usually don't fit right on Jaguars.
Jaguars have 'a few' extra frets? not one? Shit, I didn't know Ibanez were making the Jaguar now

Jesus, not heard that mentioned for years. I had a friend that was a nurse there at some nut house hospital near by- Bethlem? It is a shithole. Memories of yesteryear.

My car broke down in Orpington last year. It was horrible.
