To my eyes it looks like you switched the colors on a Red comp around.

Hot Rails. The stock ones were too noisy and thin sounding.

I really like it. It makes even Custard Mustang look awesome.

The hotrails - how do they sound clean? Are they as versatile as I think they are? I mostly play slow songs (say, Under the Bridge, Lenny, etc) but occasionally I'd like to play some Foo's. Are they okay for both?

They clean up quite good, like a PAF maybe. You may want to consider some noiseless single coils though for RHCP sounds. Something like SD 'Cool Rails', DiM YJMs or maybe Lace Sensors.

Yes, but mine where already cut to size/angle because it was advertised as a Mustang/Duo/Cyclone decal. They also supply ready cut stripes for the Jag and the Strat etc. Really easy to do.

Ah thanks, I'm going to order from the same guy as you, just wanted to know if it'd be just as easy as the one in that video.

Any suggestions for stripe color for my Olympic White 65 RI Mustang?

Fran,

It looks incredibly awesome. I was thinking of refinishing my extremely yellow (more yellow than yours, it appears) custard Stang, but this made me change my mind and apply one of my own.

Would you mind if I made it burgandy, too? It'd make your guitar less unique. I might also opt for black, and order a whitepearloid pickguard to go with it.

Edit; opted for the black one instead. Even with a red pickguard that should look somewhat neat.

Oh yeah haha totally forgot about the builder, my pickguard is the same as yours but a little more swirly?
Probably going to go with the burgundy it seems to be the only fit with the pickguard and white.
