Well done. This is stunning. I can sort of see how the black magic of electronics might be able to lead to distortion and overdrive. How it manages to wait and repeat a sound is baffling.

Wow this is ace! I've been thinking a lot about delay recently. How much d'you reckon it'd cost for one? Like everyone else I don't have the money right now, but in the near future would be most interested!

Awesome. I'm building one of these too, but very closely based on the Rebote 1/ PT2399 datasheet schematic. My thinking being: I hate most delay, so it doesn't matter how lo-fi this sounds, so the fewer parts, smaller footprint the better!

FUCK DUDE! The game has been UPPED! Next shopping trip: pt2399.

It looks like there's a lot of tweaking I could do with that little chip. Also looks like it makes SENSE unlike other echo chips I've looked at.

This is 99.9% this other guy (Ian/slacker on diystompboxes) work and just a little bit of mine in terms of debug, build and tweak, so any kudos coming my way in term of design would be something that I could not take credit for, guys, although I appreciate the enthusiam. However I might be willing to offer a delay pedal which is more "me" in the future if people were interested, although with the time and parts involved it wouldn't be cheap (we're talking Â£100+) so I would always recommend going Behringer or for another delay.

However if people were interested in a Salty Delay I could get into the groove of building them, it's a lot of work though..
-Fredo - it's the "Echo Base" project on Diystompboxes.com with a little work and problem solving, I could probably design a digital delay myself from the super=useful PT2399 datasheet but this one was a very good start point and the modulation stuff is extra special - the melding of 5V and 9V audio is really nicely done.

That's really cool Mike. I love DIY delays. It's the only thing that IS DIY on my board at the moment. I am now the proud owner of an OceanFX x2... brilliant little delay, mines been modified and sounds blissful.

That's what that bigass 7805 Voltage Regulator is for, I had to go and get a couple special from my local shop which is full of Gremlins.

i just built an echo base recently myself. i still need to troubleshoot a bit i tink because the modulation quits working after a minute or so of being on. i think it has to do with a cap and transistor i used. jsut havnt had time to source different parts. i made my modulation contols blackstone style trims since i jsut want them for super subtle tape warble.

We both got the 'wrong' ones- mine are the same bigass voltage regulators, but you can get them in a small package the same size as a regular transistor.

Mine isn't really all that big, and it was the only one Maplin had in stock, I wanted to build the pedal yesterday so I just dealt with it.

Love what's going on with the analogeeee decay action, and with that kind of tone from a wide time-range digital deal plus modulation it's a real quality product I'm sure more than a few would eventually be interested in. Good times for longer times!

It's possible, and case real estate for the jacks is probably the trickier issue.
