Ahhh I don't know. It sounds OK, but frankly my old Orange Tiny Terror (sold last year during a money crunch) had more gain, and sounded raunchier. Sure, the Night Train has a 3 band EQ, and it can do chime better than the Tiny Terror. But, the Tiny Terror sounds better at metal and other heavy rock stylings IMO. Of the two, I prefer the Tiny Terror. Frankly it's a moot point nowadays - I use a 50 watt Marshall.
Which one? DSL50? JCM800?
Lots of Marshall fans here.. I have a '94 6100 30th Anniversary 100W head and an '81 JCM800 2204 50W head
I have a Tiny Terror for making demos and practise, and this doesn't seem to offer anything the TT can't do when cranked as loud as that thing is.
Nah, I'm an amp heretic on a budget. My amp's a hybrid - an AVT50 head, with a Sonic (a local company) 2x12 cab with Celestion Vintage 30s. I've had good results with hybrid (tube/valve pre-amps and solid state power amps) amps. As long as you don't go crazy with the treble, they get great grind, with fantastically tight bottom end (I hate flubby bass).
i'd never really just stopped and looked at this thing until now.
jesus christ, did some vox designer have a stroke or something? it looks as though it'd come with the mids control hardwired to the lowest setting and a big transfer tattoo saying "COCK" for your forehead.
