65 ri mustang wiring question

i just looked under the hood of my 65 ri mustang and noticed the input jack only has a white wire coming from it and the ground leg isn't used at all. is this normal?

I looked under my 69RI's control plate and this is what I found.
I'm guessing it's normal as mine is the same, only one wire from the input.

I'm guessing that it must be grounded through the plate itself.

it is. Via the pot casings which are also connected to the slave

cool thanks, i think i need to get the wiring in my house checked. no matter what guitar or amp i use nothing grounds right. it buzzes till i touch something metal : / not overly buzzing but enough that it gets old after a little bit.

That's normal. Most guitars buzz more when you don't touch the strings/bridge/etc. It's because your body acts as an antenna and floats a charge which interferes with the pickups. Touching the strings grounds the charge.

The bridge should be grounded via a wire and that should ground the strings themselves.
