Aye. I had a Hofner lp dc thing with mini humbuckers. They are okay, less balls than a P90 but more powerfull than single coils. They sparkle on overdrive settings, they inspire that early Stone Roses sound.

I like the fact that archtop has the darknes of a humbucker and the dynamic and snap of a single coil, although that darkness might be because of the guitar, rather than the pickup.

I have one in neck position on my Nighthawk and it gives an incredible clean tone. Works very well in the studio.
