Why not just make the classics custom order after they're deemed unavailable?

I dont think there is a big enough demand for the big DMMs to have them for sale alongside the smaller DMMS. Also, I think it would cost too much to custom make a big DMM later down the line, especially when there is a surpluss out in the open market.

I have a dmm and love it, Great Design!

I think I'll try to pick up the old DMM. I'm not a fan of the new look.

pffft, who gives a fuck what it looks like? It's smaller, and it will sound the same. Win.
If I worked at EHX, I would have goven this my full support form moment one. If you've got more than four pedals, and you're trying to fit a DMM on the board, one day or another you're going to think "Shit, does this have to be so fucking BIG?"

It'll probably be a lot more affordable than the GIANT DMM.

I do. If I'm gonna spend the money I'm going to get the one I prefer, I love the look of the old style. I'm not saying it's a bad idea, it's a damn cool one. It's just a personal preferance.

What is the price drop gonna be for the smaller box? Probably not much (if anything).

when i got my DMM in 2005 i got it for 175euros. when the news came before two years of something that the chips are running out the price went up to around 220 euros. now it sells for around 240 euros and thats the price for the new one as well. good business

I wonder how long we have until the Panasonic BBDs run out and the DMM has to be discontinued all together or a new design/chip used. They moved from 2 MN3005 chips to 4 MN3008 chips a while back in order to get the same delay time, so I guess MN3005s are already quite thing on the ground. There are a lot of fakes around too.

is it hard to start making those again? i mean analog delays sell like hot cakes... and those are 220+ pounds pedals we are taking here

You need to get a factory to make them, which means re-tooling and booking runs through the process steps - not cheap stuff. Plus Panasonic will hold the patent and may not want to license it.

The machine for making them is made from a mixture of CUNIFE, original widerange pickups, big Wagon Wheels and Skoal Bandits. Never going to happen.

Plus it won't sound right on a RI chip making machine, it has no Mojo.

Well, New Sensor does have a factory; in Russia. It wouldn't be that far fetched if they did start making BBD chips when they run out. They make shit loads of tubes because those started running out.

It was on their upcoming products list at NAMM along with the 'Bird and 'Mole which have appeared so I would assume it is genuine.
