telecaster project

im gonna install a humbucker in the neck position,
tent the back of the neck rosewood so its gonna be reverse thing with maple fretboard
add black pickguard, new string tree, 500k pots, possibly new saddles.

any suggestions on a neck humbucker??? i was thinking gibson 57 paf but not set on it yet.
will 500k pots sound fine with a hotrail?

You can't tint a neck "rosewood".

Brown felt tip pen works fine, and you can make a nice grain pattern too.

Protip: draw little circles first, then make your pen lines flow round them.

i have a can similar to that that states rosewood at home in scotland.

Sounds hideous.

Why anyone would take a nice glossy maple neck and sand it down to stain it ugly is beyond me.

How are you going to block the stain to form a clean line at the fretboard edge?

nope, i bought it cheap from a mate who needed to pay a bill.
he didnt play it often so i didnt feel bad ripping him off.
standard mexican tele.
