Everyone knows how much having an LED affects the sound of a pedal, it's a real nightmare.

Actually LEDs affect your eyes, especially blue ones (LEDs that is), and what's more to say - LEDs contribute to lighting pollution. Now that's a real nightmare.

well I just saw that Mike's is a modified circuit, but I was talking about the copies of the original version. The only thing I could see is if you were playing multiple fuzz pedals, but not many people do that, especially with a superfuzz. Whatever.

There is still no great Superfuzz copy. The Watson is probaly the closest production one I heard from clips and it's missing something, it's a good fuzz pedal but not as cool as the old ones and I told him taht before he started acting like a douche, when he posted clips.

Hello. I've been after a Superfuzz for donkey's years, and eventually plumped for the BYOC Leeds. I was particularly interested to read what theampsurgeon (the other, decent, half of Wattson) had to say about it elsewhere)

I on the other hand, do use 2SC828s in my builds, and do my own design work (see other thread for layout).

I read this and it goes to show what a good bloke Mike is. I post on various local forums and any/all of the builders on them only ever reply with "Buy my shit!". But again, Mike let his work and customer service do the talking. So you never feel pressured or sales gimmicks thrown your direction.

I'd also recommend building your own or getting someone to put one together for you. At least that way you have (almost) unlimited variations/modifications available to you instantly... lately I've been thinking of a fuzz factory + sho build as it's bound to go first on my chain, and ultimately gives me two pedals in the same sized enclosure. That way I don't spend boat loads on a SHO/BoR and keep my pedal board to a minimum number of pedals.

I generally find that if you think "What would Aug do?" and do the opposite, that you can't go far wrong. I won't pimp my stuff out here, and generally I always have a chat with people when they're thinking of ordering, because sometimes the price I have to charge to cover parts, paints and labour means my pedals aren't as cheap as some of the competitors out there, for example Tremolo, if you're not interested in the fully featured trem I do, then I would say that the Danelectro Tunamelt/Cool Cat Trem are great recommendations.

I have no desire to flummox or pressure people into ordering pedals from me. I reckon if people can build that the BYOC would be a great project, apparently they're excellent. Sublimedo has made tons of them and is a big fan, and he's a superstar Electronic Engineer.

He sort of imploded on his own ego. He talks a bigger game than he really actually knows. The other guy in the Wattson game is a great bloke with lots of tech knowledge, although I disagree with him on some fundamentals.

Mike pretty much does the business/forum thing on the highest level you can. He doesn't postwhore about it, he lets others who have recieved his work talk it up, he's not doing a NOHO style "you guys are gonna be super amazed at our latest project thread".
