Suede strap to the rescue.
I have a patchy history with SGs. I think they were the first elecric guitar I lusted after, have an epiphone that was my 2nd guitar ever, so the first one I got with some sort of knowledge of what I wanted from a guitar.
I have always known about the titchiness of the body size though, as Angus Young mentioned it in a guitar magazine I was reading when I first started playing, basically "good for small guys".
I think what throws a lot of people off about the size of them is the neck set at the edge of the body like that, but the body contours being much further back, making the neck seem long (also contributing to the neck tippage).
The last time I tried a bunch of Gibson standards I wasn't feelin' it, probably just not what I'm into right now. Plus I need another guitar like gills on my nads (not terribly).

ES-335s, 45s, 30s, etc. are like this. doesn't have the tippage issue because the body is massive, but the neck does look kind of stuck out. This is one reason I like the look of Epiphone Casino's better than the 330, the neck is set farther into the body making everything look way more aesthetically pleasing.paul_ wrote:I think what throws a lot of people off about the size of them is the neck set at the edge of the body like that, but the body contours being much further back, making the neck seem long (also contributing to the neck tippage).
cogito ergo sum...thing or other...
Yeah I meant that the neck joint contributes to the neck tippage by placing the already small body further down the see-saw with the neck.mage wrote:ES-335s, 45s, 30s, etc. are like this. doesn't have the tippage issue because the body is massive, but the neck does look kind of stuck out.
