New line of cheap n cheerfull 'Surf' guitars

Post by Fran »

Wesley Guitars

Based on my last experience these are worth a tipple if you fancy something to mod or thrash about on. 8)

The 'Graduate' with its wrapover bridge appeals to me.

This looks way fun, the humbucker shaped pups especially covered like that overpower the design, but the shape is cool kind of like a Dano Pro. I've drawn something almost exactly liek this minus the dimple.

but I don't even hate the dimple. Two thumbs up on looks for trying something different.

ht-5 head.

want something a bit more flexible than the TT and it sounded mega in the shop.

plus it has speaker emulated headphone out, important for next year when the people i'm living with will probably complain about noise if i play too late.

Things that make you go hmmm...Set neck, and the headstock shape is dangerously classic. Looks like a lot o' guitar for £89.

I have one of their transparent basses in clear, I got it before I even signed up here, so over 3 years ago. It's not bad, but the neck got crooked fast and so the action is all messed up, but I'm sure the quality has improved since. They're good fun, and the transparent ones certainly always attract a lot of positive attention (if you like that sort of thing).

The pickup placement is awful. Why is there two pickups right next to each other when there's so much space either side?

Because it looks better. I doubt it makes a disastrous difference to sound. Two pickups placed in an unconventional place is still tonally improved to one pickup.
