My Dream Guitar In 1965

Post by westtexasred »

This was my dream guitar when I was 12.I never saw one in person. You couldn't buy one in the Sears Department Store, you had to send a way for it.I never had nearly enough to buy one.

i love the 4 huge fret markers on the green one. and if you put a jazzmaster pg on that first one (probably enlarged) it would look like a huge jazzmaster.

What's the story with the bridge cover on the green one? Is that just an aesthetic thing for continuities sake (the grill mirroring the pickup) or did it do anything?

I saw one of those first hand at Subway Guitars and it was in perfect nic, it looked more like candy then a guitar and it was just beautiful. I would of loved to try it out but I had no real intention of buying anything so I knew I would feel bad annoying some fat old dude to get it down (t'was just out of reach) and let me borrow a cable. I would consider one but the necks on those things are supposedly HUGE and I would probably leave it in a corner (no place for a guitar).

i finally stuck it on gumtree a couple of weeks ago, had 3 people interested. one offered me £160, the other was willing to go to £200 and a third just asked if it was still for sale and said he was interested.

the £160 one cracked me up, needless to say. the other guy said he didn't want to pay £230 because he lives in devon or somewhere and didn't want to get stung extra for postage, and - wait for it - the logo is a bit faded.

some people, honestly...

That second guitar (the one the same colour as the one i'm posting) reminds me of one I saw on ebay a while back. It's one massive picture (in pixels 900 x 7000, that's right, 7000) but I can't be bothered to edit it. Actually my photobucket might be set to auto-crop it, anyway it's nice.
