thanks haze. that wooden board is just a stop gap till i find a board i like. which is mainly any board that is not angled. i have been thinking of one of those TREX tonetrunk ones. i'm in a pickle at the mo, as i keep taking and replacing the phase 90 on and off a lot. i've dug out my old emily the strange sg and clean it up and but 12's on it. with just my amp and the tubescreamer, it's like plexi city, well almost.

The Box of Cake is getting a lot of use as a FUZZ believe it or not. The extra switch that makes the gain knob full on is sick. I'm not sure what a real hotcake sounds like with the gain all the way up but i can't imagine its anything like this beast.
The Muff is getting all my good black keys tones but Mike's building me a Sun Face clone at the moment and i suspect that will be the keeper.
I'm also thinking of ordering a Echo Base Lite aswell. Or a Carbon Copy. STILL UNDECIDED!!! But a small clone is a must before too long...

My things:

MG-66 Mustang and Squier Bronco bass. Just these two guitars until I get that Toronado.

Roman RS410 combo (4W 12AX7+6L6, 10", open back).
Exar Chorus (not sure which model, it was stripped down and pretty sucky painted by prev owner), OCD, SuperFuzz clone, Snarling Dogs Whine-O-Wah.
Pretty minimalistic. Thinking of getting some kind of delay, a phaser and digitech whammy.

Yeah, it's kinda bright color. I don't remember exactly, but I think it was listed as "deep sonic blue".

No, it's definitely not a refin - the graphite shielding is intact and well.. even if it's refin, it's quite amazingly professional

As for covers, thanks, I have my own pair (the original black ones), but they don't fit on these pickups because of staggered pole pieces - wish I knew this before.

Blue stang looks SWEET... bit different with the pickup setup too... I likes. Bangles really set off the colour ...

Those Bronco basses are awesome as well... plugged one in the the other day for the first time.... amazing !!!

How do you find your OCD ?

I have kinda mixed feelings about it. Construction- and quality control-wise this is the best pedal I've ever owned, definitely worth it's money - the production quality is top notch. As goes for the sound, it isn't exactly what I expected from it, but I've had it only for few days so I guess there should be some adaptation time. What exactly bothers me is how it reacts to attack - I'll have to pick pretty hard to make pick attack sound pronounced - don't like. It cleans up extremely well if you drop volume or pick gently, and I was expecting a bit more of a JCM800 more sustainy sound, but with my amp it sounds kinda muddy if I dial drive to max. But at the lower gain settings it sounds awesome. I think I just need to play with it a bit more. Also should try it on with some bigger amps, and humbuckers.

As for the bronco bass - it is OK. The neck is nice, hardware is not that good, the pickup sounds ok to me but I have no clue when it comes to basses. What sucks about it is the craftmanship. Bolts that hold neck aren't screwed straight, and when I firstly put off the neck there was plenty of sawdust in the neck pocket - ridiculous, same shit with bolts that hold pickguard - one of them was screwed so bad off axis that it chipped piece of body wood. Pickguard is a bit crooked and in general not very good. But overall I like this bass, thinking about doing a refin to it, or atleast clearcoating the neck with some tint.

Those were my complaints with the OCD; picky about amps and too much bass at high gain levels. It sounded good with my practise amp (Orange Tiny Terror) and terrible with my rehearsal/gig amp (Marshall 100W head). With my Marshall it just sounded so wooly it was untrue, like no guitar sound anyone would ever want: Imagine a Jag-Stang underwater with the tone knob rolled off.

Owen I think you're better with the Dano drive, the output buffer it has (which the OCD does not) makes it less prone to this issue.

Nice Mustang! I have a 66 RI neck on my 69 RI. Feels really nice and has the cool white tuners

The bronco looks awesome in that photo too, I might have to get one and mod it a bit. I have been searching for a musicmaster bass and havn't found anything! How is the neck and the nut? My current bass (pbass copy) has shitty frets which are pretty sharp at the edges.I catch my fingers on them sometimes when im sliding down the fretboard - not nice.

The neck on Bronco is pretty good. Frets are nice, you can barely feel them with your palm. The tuners suck, but I can live with them because I don't play this Bronco that often. The nut is plastic, and I think it's cut good because I'm happy with action. What I don't like - there's no finish on the neck, and as I've said earlier they don't control their quality in Indonesia that much. So if you can - go to a store and try few of these and pick the best one. I don't know if I got the worst assembly job on this Bronco, but I won't risk ordering anything online that is made in Indonesia from now on.
