so it being the "rarer small size mustang" makes me wonder if he thinks that it should be 25.5" and its 24" or if he knows they are 24" and it is 22.5"

They never made sparkle Mustangs... the only ones I can think of were Jagmasters and Super-Sonics.

It's 22.5", which is rarer as Mustangs go (thinknig of the entire run), but not really for these early years.
