That's really cool actually. The LP's and SG's aren't priced too poorly either.Shaguar wrote:I just noticed this while checking their site for pickups..

GFS takes their QA extremely seriously. If those kits are questionable I doubt they would carry them, let alone put their name on them.astro wrote:I wonder if these are just rebadged Saga kits?
I built a Saga tele kit about 5 years ago. Came out OK. I think every single screw hole had been drilled in the wrong place at the factory and had to be redrilled.

They are a great company. Quality products, committed customer service, fair prices, and the hand out 10% off discounts like they were halloween candy.Haze wrote:I Do quite like GFS, i've got a pair of their Neovin pickups for my Telecaster, except the neck one had a frayed wire that is supposed to ground the chrome cover, returned it and they have a new one on my way as i type [?]
They actually care about guitarists... not enough companies like them around.

Do you mean QC? and why do you say that? I'm a fan of GFS as well, but I wouldn't go as far as to say all that. I think you definitely take a risk with the quality. Their products are far from perfect.endsjustifymeans wrote:GFS takes their QA extremely seriously. um, I dunno but a lot of their salesman hype really rubs me the wrong way. a lot of it seems to me to be bordering on lying. if you know your shit you won't get ripped off but I think a lot of people get swindled by it.endsjustifymeans wrote:They are a great company. Their pickups are ordered directly from the Artec line. The sales-pitch is created completely after the fact. The stories about how they found some vintage strat and reverse engineered the pickups are completely phony.
I think they're a great outlet for inexpensive and relatively good quality guitar parts. one of the best values you'll find. you just have to make sure you're making an informed purchase.
cogito ergo sum...thing or other...
I agree with the questionable sales pitch. After getting to play my xaviere (GFS Copy cat guitars) through some tube amps, I can say that the GFS vintage alnico staggers pickups that the xaviere features are shit. The neck and middle pickups are too muddy and the bridge pickup is way too tinny. I was expecting pickups to rival american strat pickups, buying into GFS sales pitch, but I got pickups that barely beat out some Squiers. Since I only paid 174 dollars for the guitar, a pickup replacement wasn't a big deal, however.

i don't know about those pups but i love the fatbody overwound tele bridge and neck pups that i bought from them. I was thinking that the ones they use in the xavier guitars would be their super low end ones that they sell in sets for less than $20, so don't judge GFS pickups by those.yeepers wrote:I agree with the questionable sales pitch.
