no sign of them screws yet- no worries if you haven't got round to posting them, but if you have and they've gone missing i'm going to go radge at the postie next time i see him.

That thing is a labour of love. It's going to be perfect in every way when you're done with it. Still can't believe what a bargain you got.

The more I change little bits the more I'm considering a refin. I still have a little urge to swap the tort for white pearl, get some black robroes and do it in daphne, but I'm more likely to do it in 'aged' white.

I've realised the tuning stability problem is probably down to the strings sticking in the nut a little. I'm using 13-56 at the moment and it's probably a touch more than the nut is cut for. I have lots of 12-52 packs and I'll try one of them next to see how they do.

Things still to do
- fix the wiring of the neck pickup (will probably just re-do the lot)
- a bit of a setup.

Possibly
- change the tuners (see classifieds for ones I got but am not sure of)
- refin

Obviously the wiring needs to be fixed. I think a refin would be nice, it would bring the whole guitar together into the same era. Now that most of it looks vintage, the finish is very white. Just don't custard it up like euan's Mustang.

i put a set of 11-52s on my '72 and the bottom 3 are a bit too big for the nut. you might find 12-52s are still a bit thick.
