Nah, no special tricks or anything- if you're recording onto a PC you can tweak the fuck out of it anyways to save any iffy sounds.

toms nice and loud--rock! Good stuff man. Have you heard of the Glyn Johns 3-mic setup? Should be ableo find something via Google search; but it's basically a mic in the kick, mic over the snare (several feet above it, pointing down) and then a mic horizontal over the floor tome/ride cymbal pointing (capsule wise) back towards the snare. The distance from the snare mic to the snare should be roughly equal to the distance between the tom mic and snare mic. Anyway, I've never tried it but it's supposed to get a pretty good capture. I think you also pan the snare and tom mics hard left/hard right. I'm somthing of a close-micing drum junky and just always go to that; but I'd like to try a minimalist setup sometime.

Strat and DSL50 aye, but twas the aforementioned TWAT pedal set to "hot" mode.

The Strat is a mongel of parts- Jagmaster neck, 90's MIK Squier body, Mightymite loaded scratchplate (Al Nico pups I think). Definitely feels and sounds better than the sum of its parts to me, even if it's a little ragged around the edges.

Unashamedly! I was listening to Yip/Jump Music and just went "fuck, I really should dig out that chord organ I never play", and I wrote the chords sequence in a day.

Gah, I'm a bit behind on this. Youtube emailed me to say that there was something new up, but then didn't let on when I logged in the site.

On the drums video are we hearing the drumtrack through your speakers and then through the mic on the camera? There sounds to me as though there is a change in the eq'ing at about 5'08", and I was wondering if was something you'd automated and not mentioned, something to do with the camera moving, or something that I imagined entirely.

It's just the proximity effect, nowt else! Also maybe some kind of phasing thing brought by stereo speakers being picked up the mono microphone.
