It's not all good news there are some "serious structural problems" (a direct quote from the seller) with the guitar.
When I originally arranged to go and to see it the guy informed me that there were some parts missing/broken, and that if it had been under warranty he would have returned it to the shop he bought it from. Turned out to be the E and B strings (and yes I did tell him that strings break all the time and are easily replaced, but he had decided to sell it as he didn’t like learning the guitar as much as he thought he would).

eh? he classed 2 broken strings as 'serious structural problems'? if that's the case you should take it from him forcibly and beat him to death with it. more than he deserves, the plum.

He didn’t even have an amp! I had to take my marshal drp-1 to check it was working. Apparently he didn’t know he needed one, bought the guitar of the net and no one mentioned an amp (nothing like doing your homework, eh!). He didn’t really say “structural problems that was an exaggeration. He said a couple of the wires were broken (but he did seem to think it was a repair job).
yeah, i eventually shifted it to a guy in devon, strangely enough. he was a bit iffy about the price, his reason being the silvertone logo was 'a bit faded'. had to remind him the guitar was most likely older than his dad. he went for it in the end.
My new (second hand) dano 63 is ready to be seen in public. I had to remove a few stickers (c.n.d have got a lot to answer for), and add a new set of strings but it’s come up roses.
Seriously happy with my purchase, it’s a really good sounding guitar. Makes me wonder if all the talk about tone woods is a bit of a pretention.
