Indeed I saw the same, but I've also read enough elsewhere to know he needs to be called.

If you'd really wanted one, you would have called him.

Come on, you're a HCFX veteran. You know that phone calls are the way he takes orders.

Why bang your head against a brick wall repeatedly when you know there's a door to your left?

i just called & had a pleasant conversation: he seemed very nice & offered a lot of info & explanations re: wait lists, availability et cetera.

i don't want to be the fuck-off asshole. there are just certain realities, exogenous factors & utilitarian modes which come into play. aside from the the ever-present "ethical controversies."

it is even hard now to find a decent Dano TOD used on ebay. god forbid wanting to expensively "rehouse" them. new is about $50 bucks but i am not paying $50 bucks for a Dano pedal.

cheers.

You do realize the Dano TOD has a full metal casing and full bypass switching?

Fuck even when I was making pedals those two things are a majority of the cost, they are actually worth $50.

I don't really have any problem with mine, I don't use it all the time but I get a decent "sparkle" out of mine easily.

completely valid point. i don't know anything about pedal building. but i bought two Dano Mini pedals for less than $30 last fall/winter. so anything more than that is basically my own personal ceiling.

i think the "economics of scale" is also a valid point. broadly speaking. & i mean "economies of scale" & not "cheap components" argument either.

but yes i agree w/ you Pens. i wasn't thinking about that.

Yeah, I just read the Pub for the first time in a while.

I'm going to pretend that my awesomeness did this though. WINNING AT THE INTERNET: Me.

AWESOME PENS!

One post as potent as Shad torrent.

That almost rhymes. I like the way those words bounce together.

malko wrote:Im new here and you guys seem a little more honest and less blinkered by boutique pedals than other forums. I got the Transparent Overdrive and while its pretty close to being a great pedal it just lacks something, maybe a little less of the blanket over the speaker sound (which admittedly is very slight!)

Can anyone give an honest comparison here?

Mike i notice you have made a Timmy clone. Whats your view?
Germandude does a comparative video sampling on YouTube (albeit "slightly" jaded). IMHO, they are close enough to justify spending less money and getting the Dano TOD.
