Mustang bridge on a classic play jag?

Hey, new to the boards, hoping you guys could help me out.
For my first offset - i decided to go with a classic player jag (wanted a reissue, but the price got me) everything seems great so far, but i was wondering a couple things.
My brother has a reissue Jazz and it has a i dont even know what to call it. i guess a "rocking" or maybe a "leaning" bridge, i'm sure you know what i mean. the CP jag doesnt, it has a hard mounted TOM bridge.

SO, what i want to know is; is there a way i can get it like a reissue bridge and will a mustang bridge fit into the TOM slot?

Im not sure about the Mustang bridge fitting in the TOM slot
But i do know the Mustang bridge is a different radius than the TOM.
If you get a Jag, Jazzy bridge you could ajust each saddle to work with the radius of the CP neck radius.
..or Warmoth has a Mustang bridge where the 1st+2nd, and the 5th+6th saddle is ajustable, and cost about $50

I was talkin this over with my brother and he had a very simple answer, "why dont you just swap bridge with my mustang and try it out?" sounds like the easiest way to me

would anyone like pics of the process when i do it?

Why do you want to do this? You will get alot more sustain with a TOM bridge, and the radius will be perfect for the neck. The new Classic Jags have a flatter neck radius much like a gibson, and if you look at the mustang bridge compaired to the tom bridge you'll see the difference and hear it too.

Yes please, I'm looking to put a schaller roller on my 98 CIJ so would like to see this - even though it's a reverse.

i thought the cp's just had the TOM dropped into the regular thimbles, the one i tried definitely rocked back and forth.

if you want to get rid of the TOM, let me know

Sweet, I wasn't sure if you could drop it straight in or not - I've heard mixed opinions. I'd like to find a roller that adjusts to a 7.25" radius and maybe anchor it in place with electrical tape or something.

Not possible. I don't think the thimbles in a CP will accept a Mustang bridge.

Also I don't think you need to do this, the guitar is fantastic stock and the tremolo works perfectly with the original setup.

Mustang Bridge should be a direct drop in for you guitar. Or so I believe.

I'd recommend getting a Warmoth "Modified Mustang" bridge- the adjustable action on the E, A, B and thin E strings means you can match the radius; something a standard 'Stang bridge won't let you do. I've had 'Stang, stock and this bridge in my Jazzmaster and it's definately the best out there.

But yeah, unsure about dropping a standard bridge into the CP threaded bridge cups- there may not be enough space for the standard's posts.

I'm really starting to think against this. the only reason i'd do it is for cosmetic reasons

, so i guess all in all not worth it. but now - a new guard? considering white or back..but who knows. I still owe $600 on this lady, then we'll spruce her up. i'd really love to get a AVRI or a japanese jag, one day...

okay. well, CP jags are cool too. you don't need to "fix it" so it's more like an AVRI or MIJ jag. it's cool in it's own way.

hahah Guilty, that's me.

Fender owe me so much commission it's untrue. I would leave the guitar as is, and personally I much prefer Tort on Sunburst to Black or White, but that's a taste issue.
Definitely never change the bridge for cosmetic issues, I don't find TOMs ugly at all.

Plus, if you're looking at the bridge, you ain't playing it - so you're doing it wrong.
