I'm more vain and simplistic than that: I think white would look pretty, but brown clashes.

Not really got an opinion on the guard, i had a surf green Jazzy and took the white guard off for tort. I just dislike white guards, Mint Green rulez though.

I'd have kept the tort on the Jazzy, but it's gorgeous either way.

The SG looks really great as is, though James' idea would be amazing.

well, my guitar has gold hardware and the binding has aged to cream so it doesn't look that out of place. also, the guitar is all original so I'd rather not fuck with something so pointless as a switch tip.

Benecol, what if you went down to your local guitar place and asked if you can do a straight swap on one of their 'scratch n dent' guitars. Give them your amber tip for a white one. No mess, no fuss.
