Baja Trussrod Wont Turn

Post by malko »

I took off the neck and tried to turn it but it wont move in either direction. I know it shouldnt require much force but even when i was just a little persuasive with it the thing wouldn't move a mm! Any suggestions? By the way i bought this new in Jan 09. I did have a guy with a good rep set it up but i dont think he did much more than lower the saddles a little, set the intonation and gave it a polish!

If it's that bound up I wouldn't mess with it.Your best bet would be to take it to a shop.Would it not still be under warranty?Being 8 months old and all.

I've read this elsewhere but then some guys said it was a bad idea. You tried it? How much and where?

I was going to suggest that but I wouldn't want to gamble.
WD-40 is your friend usually.I use it for spraying my artifical baits, boat motor linkage, fishing line..just about anything on my boat but very hesitant about spraying a guitar with it.

wd-40 will stain lacquer, but its safe with poly.
