rebranded teisco it seems.

Plays as well as a 2x4 plays. Necks are neat, short scale but nice and chunky. Those singles have a neat trashy jangle to them, hope you like feedback though.

yeah, they're a bit squeely. I've had an old harmony and now Kali. Could aslo be because there is a complete absence of shielding in there and general poor quality electronics and solder joints. I actually really like those old teisco pickups, very unique trebley sound. I'm not changeing the ones in Kali, just shielding it and redoing the wiring.

I would seriously jump on that for that price. But you guys know my taste.

don't waste your time. if you don't have $50, you can hardly justify spending money you don't have on a possibly shite guitar.

Shush, it's a fully functional guitar for $50 bucks.

These old '60s guitars are quirky and awesome. I say pick it up! If you don't like it, I'll buy it off of you for another project!

nah, I just hate how on forums everyone becomes such a purist and everything has to be exactly how the forum consensus has determined is the proper form or people get shouted down. fuck that. please, for everyone's sake, do your own thing with yr guitars. Sparky's paisley guard is a perfect example of a tasteful, creative, and original bit of decoration that adds an individual touch to his guitar.

i see what you're saying, but unfortunately, this is what's known as an opinion.
it is ugly.
so is this.

you can always do your own thing, but if you're putting flowers on the pickguard of your guitar, i'd expect to have a few people not drinking from that cup of tea.

But why bash the guy in a whole new thread. He said it's a good guitar for $50 and it's an awesome project guitar. Why do you need to make fun of his other project when this thread is not about that project?

You're such a douchebag, man.

I don't see why you're bothering to call my project out in this thread. If you don't like what my girlfriend and I did, then keep your comments to yourself, or at least confined to that thread. We worked hard on restoring that guitar, and we did it for ourselves and her brother, not you. So please refrain from mocking it. You're just coming off as a salty cunt.

As I was saying, these '60s import guitars can be cheap fun. There's no reason why they should be kept stock as they're basically worthless as far as vintage guitars go. The sunburst on those guitars just screams "SAND ME DOWN AND PAINT ME!" They're quirky shaped and sound pretty unique. Maybe it's me, maybe it's a niche market, but I thoroughly enjoy doing what I do.

Like I said, if you pick that guitar up and decide you don't like it, I'd gladly buy it off of you.

i'm with mage on this one...part of what makes guitars so fucking awesome is our ability to do whatever the fuck we want to them. i'm sure if joe strummer had been on shortscale some purist fag would've called him out for doing what he did to his tele...and yet it made that guitar so unique and special, Fender tried to create something that looked just like it.

i LOVE the frankensonic i bought from Ends. It's a great, funky guitar that does what it was meant to do, and does with a fuckload of style. sparky's project guitar, while it wouldn't suit my PERSONAL tastes for pgs and shit, was a great project, and he did an awesome job on it! just because i wouldn't personally have those design elements on my guitar doesn't mean it isn't a great job, and something that a buttload of others wouldn't love.

if i had a cheap guitar i wanted to have something fun or crazy done to, i'd consult sparky and ends...and probably that dude with the petrified guitars...they to me are like the avant garde of guitar modification around here. and that's fucking rad.

also, yeah, why in this thread, hotrod?

I just want to say that I really liked what Sparky and his girlfriend did with those guitars and pickguards. Painting paisley on them isn't that extreme anyway, is it? At least he didn't finish it in burnt stained blue or bookmatched flame maple...

Hotrod. You make some good posts and contributions. Why do you have to totally destroy that by being a douche the rest of the time.

Gaybear..Did you end up getting it?
