was it really needed to spend 7 minutes and yet show so little?
on the very few moments where you could actually hear the character that makes the memory-series what it is, it sounded very nice. too me it sounds bit cleaner than the DMM making it something of its own, not neccessarily a cheaper version of the DMM
and for that price is a must!

also, now that i think of it, it would have been much more space savvy if they put the jacks on the top side. probably wasnt that easy but it would be good. the fact that they are on the side, makes it NOT so smaller than the big ass chassis of the DMM in the end

I'm kind of split on top-side jacks.

The upsides:
-squish pedals together closer
-easier to change routing on a board like mine where stuff is mounted with brackets

The downsides:
-there are still pedals out there with side jacks, which will negate the bonus of having top jacks where ever those pedals are put
-topside jacks if you use right cables can kind of get to be a nightmare.

I think all pedals should have some sort of option to wire stuff out the bottom plate with a different kind of cable. That'd be really nice for people who have Ikea Gorm or Pedaltrain type boards.

Yeah I remember when they first came out with the nano or xo pedals or whatever, someone did a side-by-side comparison and the smaller ones with side-mounted jacks are just as wide as the old big ones with top-mounted jacks when they're all plugged in and on a board, given the clearance they each need.

That was for muffs and stuff though, nothing eats space like those big old polychorus/dmm/electric mistress boxes.

yeah my frequency analyzer takes up an absurd amount of space. But I still love it.

Memory Boys are even cheaper from Hotrox - maybe time to cancel those pre-orders and get on to them instead. If it salves your consciences any, Gear4Music are notorious for waiting for their orders to back up, then ordering in bulk, rather than carrying stock. Also, Hotrox end to get EHX stuff quicker and more reliably (for instance, they were the only UK stockists of the SMMH when I got mine).

I like Hotrox - only had good experiences, both pedals and valves.
Slight side-note, looks like they are going to be stocking Subdecay pedals which is good news.

I've had mixed results from them (being iffy about price-matching, acting like they're doing me a favour including adaptors that are already included) but you can't argue with their stock levels and, increasingly, their prices. The Frequency Analyzer looks very tempting...

Man you Brits have it bad on prices, even the "good deal" on the memory boy is a whole $10 more.

I just got the tracking info on mine, set to arrive on Friday.

So? You realise the pedal is made in the US right? Hence it has to be exported to England. Of course it's more expensive.

£65 is a great deal. I'm thinking of cancelling and jumping ship to HotRox.

hotrox isn't far from me. my mate works there, so sometimes i can get a deal. like my CS phase 90, should of been £135 or something and got it for £85 as it was the last one. don't know what i could get on the new EHX though. have they got memory toy's too?

^ This. And...

... fuck'em. Gear4Music can be pretty lame about fulfilling orders of kit that's not in stock. Just cancel your order - I've done it umpteen times. If they want to keep your custom, they should occasionally try to have things in stock, or give you a reasonable delivery date, rather than just sell you a promise*
