Discussion bit: First off not my bag particuarly. Saw the thread on offset and whilst the process was (by his own admission) a bit rough round the edges and again could nitpick endlessly on the lack of more refined woodworking and design tech (routed out the shape - no template etc etc) but it looks better in that pic for being painted black. The neck and body look more in sync than before the black paint.... You can see a lot of things have been kinda placed slightly haphazardly. I'd be interested to hear it!

Perhaps an easy build to diss in some ways but I understand the dude is A) 15, B) set himself a super tight deadline to complete it and did it, C) built it according to how he wanted it and followed through with the plan and D) I can't say i've scratchbuilt a single guitar body yet at the age of 32 and have had more unfinished projects than finished ones.

I think many will hate it however whether i actually like it or not the universe feels a teensy more interesting and funny for having had someone make a sharktooth-pointy-jagstang thingummy in it.

And I'l temper that with the fact that the strings won't even be on the neck because it's crooked as my teeth.

I can't knock him for actually doing it, I never thought he would. I read the thread on offset and I'm sure he has learnt a lot of lessons, the main one being "take your time" I think. But fair play, it's what he said he'd do and he did it.
Having said that, it's fecking awful aesthetically. The body shape just seems scrappy and that neck on there is dreadful! Each to their own.

I think for me the angle between those humbuckers and the bridge is what's really stabbing me in the eyes.

I can't believe I'm going to say this... it would work better with the headstock reversed...

i think there's a good chance that the doogfest destruction guitar was a better player than that thing. i just don't get why he had to rush it. perhaps he was up against a deadline for the 2009 national Guitars That Won't Intonate show.

I bet he built the whole thing in a frenzy doing that "foot-to-foot-holding-the-end-of-your-willy-because-you-need-a-wee" dance thing that children do.

Yes. whole body was routed out of a block including the outer shaping. When I get chance I'l try and find the link to the Offset thread.

It could have been worse.

I think the kid showed some real grit getting this done. It's gonna fall apart the first time he tries to play it... but true grit none the less.

I'm actually impressed, not of the guitar, but of the kids admiration, determination, and effort put into it. Cheers 'lil guy
