do or don't ?

Post by kim »

some hayman kit, it's going for 150 euro, i don't have m own kit, i know hayman isn't exactly topnotch, i don't care, i like the color, it's got remo skins, no cymbals only a hi hat

he won't go below 15O should i do it ? i don't even know where i'm gonna put it because there's so little space but i want my own drumkit to practice more/record

also what a retarded setups, i'd ditch a tom and set it up low and get a nice ride and crash, prolly replace the hi hat too, which means i'm looking at 200 or even more to invest in cymbals

Cymbals are were kits can get expensive. I'd probably go for something that cost a bit more but had cymbals, and then you can change cymbals if you want later. But I think it'd work out cheaper in the short run.

€150 drums + €150 cymbals will probably cost you €200-250 to buy as a complete deal second hand.

I literally know dirt about drums, but i've become a fan of not buying things that immediately need money put into them. I've always done it with cars and such and they always end up costing more and wishing the extra bucks had been saved+spent

Does it have a kick pedal? That's another expense to bear in mind.

Never heard of Hayman, are they a cheaper European make? The snare looks pretty deep, and it isn't metal- both good signs.

think at one stage, they were kinda Britain's answer to ludwig. this looks like a later model.

i love the look of older drumkits much more but gretsch round badge or old premiers, slingerlands is just out of control here

that's why i'm sort of waiting for a secondhand 80's tama kit, they're affordable and sturdy, but it's always boring black ones that show up. also like those cheaper gretsch blackhawks but the price secondhand isn't much cheaper because they're relatively 'recent' made

probably won't do hayman, it's gonna cost too much for what it is and by the time i've good cymbals i'm gonna want a better quality kit....lose

i've been gassing for a gretsch catalina club kit for years. i'm a sucker for 18" kick drums and snare stand mounted rack toms.
for progfest i'm gonna see if i can get my dad's tama kit.

I picked up a late 80s Premier kit w/hardware w/four cymbals (All decent Zildjian/Paiste) for £90. It remains the greatest deal I've done.

It sounds great aswell, so thats one in favour of Premier from me.

yeah, they made some nice stuff, the 60/70's ones are a bit pricey but the 80's ones aren't (yet ?) so you can still get good deals on those.
this dude is just asking too much for what he's selling, i got back to him saying he has no deal.
the thing is i want to practice more on drums because i feel i'm not getting any further playing once or twice a week and it just has to be loud to cut through so i can't really experiment that much so i wanna practice alone a bit too just by myself so i don't worry about looking like an ass lol
