It's the Holy Grail for MIJ Lester peoples - an Orville by Gibson '59 Reissue series. Only made in '93-'94 @ FujiGen, the LPS-59R was 125,000Y new & featured a nitro finish, top quality woods, SOLID maple top, fret edge binding, blank 2-screw truss rod cover, correct angle headstock, THICK '50s neck, US-made Gibson PAFs & all the other best goodies they could come up with. Maybe the best Japanese copy of a '59 evar & deff. the best guitar I've personally played. Mine has a nice amount of regular wear & has obviously been played regularly since new. Frets will probably start giving me issues in a few years - someone before me REALLY liked bendy stuff on the tiny strings above the 12th fret. Love how all the nickel hardware has aged, so, so, so hot. Also, its Man-Heavy. Like, heavy enough to bother some folks. I think its in excess of 11lbs. And its a plain-top, which seems pretty rare from what I've seen on the Japanese LP forums, etc. And I like plain tops.
