I agree, this is the best way to do it.James wrote:I think the only sensible thing to do is money up front. If 50 picks does work out to £12/$20 I'm much more comfortable with individuals putting that money down with a 4-5 week wait for the picks than someone being out $430 and having to bust balls to get the money. And for the convenience of everyone involved we'll need a payment deadline. If we're waiting on someone to pay then the wait before we order extends the wait between payment and picks for everyone else.

Dunno if I'm established enough, but I'd be happy to handle it stateside if no one else wants to do it.
Also it seems like there's an awful lot of non 50 pick orders... do we need people to buy 25 of various colors to round things out?

We have to have multiples of 200 per colour and a minimum of 800 total. We currently have this...
So it looks like we'll have 25 purple, 125 green and 25 yellow spare. Mike said he'll take an extra 100 worth to help round things out and I'll take an extra 25 or 50, too.
Which will likely translate to being 200 purple, 200 blue, 400 green, and 200 yellow. All we'll be giving Dunlop is those quantities. When the order comes in, someone (looks it'll be you then, ends) is going to have the job of dividing them up according to the individual orders. We can also do it so an order of 25 blue is given as 22 blue, 1 green, 1 yellow, 1 purple. Given that they're a custom job and likely a one off, it would be nice for people to be able to keep one of each colour if they wish (especially as the print will wear off the ones that are used). It might not work out neatly enough to do that very easily though. I didn't want to mention that before because it would just sound too complicated.UK - 425

Just emailed Dunlop asking for a price on 1000, picks (with the 200/200/400/200 breakdown mentioned before) with single-sided single-colour printing, and the same with double-sided single-colour printing. Both with a logo rather than text. If we just go with 'do you ready?' or something on the back it will likely be cheaper to have them process that as text.
It might be the case that the 'Initial Logo die charge: $50.00' is charged per side so we'll be looking at an extra $50.
Once they get back to me with the numbers I'll make up an estimate price per x picks and people can decide if they're definitely in or not based on that.

We're pretty close to hitting the right numbers. Feel free to go for yellow and blue still. They're where they need to be for the order but if dots wants any to have a sstock for the site or people want to increase their order depending on the price the things can still work out. The second side print is per 1000 picks but it will offset the cost of the logo enough that paying the second side charge twice and ordering 1400 will work out cheaper per pick.UK - 450

As we're already on target with yellow and blue, and only 25 off purple, I'm going to put these latest orders as extra for now and then if there's enough demand we'll add them to the main order. I don't want youse guys to feel excluded but if we end up with 225, blue and 250 yellow it could throw a spanner in the works. I'm expecting a few more people to get on board so I think it's likely the ones will still go through. I hope I don't sound like a dick saying that and hopefully it works out so everyone gets what they want.
